What Is Bridge Loan
You already know that reading well is a key ingredient to your child performing well in school. Reading to children from an early age will help foster an ability, and maybe even a love, for reading, but how can you take it to the next step? Besides reading the words on the pages, and having your child point to the pictures, what takes that child's ability to read and transforms it into an ability to read critically and be able to apply their reading to a larger context?
One way to do this is by building a bridge between the book being read and your child's own experiences. Good teachers try to do this with every piece of literature a child comes into contact with in school, from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Bridging takes the lessons, experiences and story learned in the book and gives them a larger context making the material relevant and useful to the reader. A good bridge can bring a book to life and make it memorable for that child for years to come.
There are three times to create a bridge, regardless of the length or reading level of the book. If you can create a bridge during at least one of these times it will help solidify the reading experience. If you can create more than one, the experience will become even more enriched. They are:
