Larceny, Inc. and Unfaithfully Yours were not nominated for any awards and received little public attention when first released. However, both have stood the test of time and are better appreciated by critics and film buffs today.

Warner Brothers, which practically invented the gangster movie in the early 1930s, turned the genre on its head with a series of crime comedies in the late 30s and early 40s. Chosen as the lead in several of them, including this film, was tough guy Edward G. Robinson who was best known for his role as the blood thirsty gangster in Little Caesar (1931).

Suave ex-convict Robinson, encouraged by his adopted daughter Wyman and her boy friend Carson, is determined to go straight. However, when his plans to start a dog track are thwarted after the bank refuses to give him a loan, he decides to rob the same bank with the help of two low intellect cronies, Crawford and Brophy.
